A Project is the essential bit of ConfigCat. It represents a collection of Settings.
One Project usually represents a website, an application or any kind of software.
An environment in ConfigCat represents an environment you in your development lifecycle (production, staging, etc.). Every project starts with a predefined Production environment but you can rename it or create more.
Each environment has its own API key which can be used to initialize the ConfigCat SDK.
A setting is an item in your Project. It always has a name (key) and a value for each of your environments.
Available setting value types:
- On/Off toogle (bool)
- Text (string)
- Number, eg. 1000 (integer)
- Number, eg. 3.14 (double)
